Scholars Network

A network of researchers, academics, practitioners and students who work on US policy wherever it meets Pakistan’s interests, from the Gulf and the Indo-Pacific to Central Asia, Europe and the multilateral institutions in Washington. Members write, review, speak and research with the Centre.

Who the network is for

The network is open to anyone whose work touches US policy and Pakistan, wherever they are based:

  • Researchers and academics at universities and research institutes, in Pakistan, the United States and elsewhere.
  • Practitioners in diplomacy, government, development, business, law and the media.
  • Graduate students and early-career researchers with a clear research interest in the field.

Membership is free. It is not employment and carries no fee or stipend.

What members can do

  • A route to publish with the Centre: dispatches, commentary and policy briefs
  • Invitations to roundtables, workshops and events, as a speaker or participant
  • Collaboration on research projects, datasets and joint papers
  • A listing in the public members directory, if you choose
  • Peer review for the CUPA journal and the Centre’s publications
  • Contact with colleagues working on the same questions in other regions

What we ask of members

Members are asked to keep their profile current, to tell us about relevant work, and to respond when the Centre invites them to contribute. Taking part is voluntary: you choose the requests you accept.

Everything published with the Centre goes through its editorial process and follows its standards on accuracy, sourcing and disclosure of interests.
