The name Pakistan’s government, and this site, use for the part of the former princely state of Jammu and Kashmir administered by India. Pakistan holds that the territory’s final status is disputed and must be settled under UN Security Council resolutions. In August 2019 India revoked its special constitutional status and reorganised it into two union territories, Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh; Pakistan rejects those changes, while India calls the matter internal.12
