A State Bank of Pakistan scheme launched in September 2020 that lets non-resident Pakistanis, including many in the United States, open bank accounts in Pakistan fully online and invest, notably in Naya Pakistan Certificates offering returns of up to 7 per cent on US dollars. By April 2023 more than 560,000 accounts had been opened and cumulative inflows had reached about $6.1 billion.12
