The agreement signed in Doha on 29 February 2020 between the United States and the Taliban, which it names as an entity the United States does not recognise as a state. The United States committed to withdraw its forces and those of its allies from Afghanistan within 14 months; the Taliban committed to prevent Afghan soil being used to threaten the United States and its allies, and to enter negotiations with other Afghans.12
