CUPA Journal of US-Pakistan Affairs expects everyone involved in publishing with it to act honestly, fairly and responsibly. These standards are informed by the Core Practices published by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
Authors
Authors should:
- submit only original work, and cite the work of others accurately
- not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal at a time
- list as authors everyone, and only those, who meet the authorship criteria
- declare competing interests and sources of funding
- follow appropriate ethical standards for research involving people, including informed consent and protection of confidentiality
- tell the editors promptly if they find a significant error in their submitted or published work
Reviewers
Reviewers should give objective, constructive and timely reports, keep manuscripts confidential, declare conflicts of interest and decline to review where they cannot be impartial.
Editors
Editors should judge manuscripts only on their merit and relevance, regardless of the authors’ identity, nationality, institution or views; keep the review process confidential; declare their own conflicts of interest; and keep the journal’s editorial decisions independent of any funder or of the publisher’s commercial or political interests.
Handling concerns
Concerns about possible misconduct, such as plagiarism, fabricated or falsified data, duplicate publication or undisclosed conflicts of interest, can be raised with the editors at info@cupa.org.pk. They will be looked into confidentially and fairly, and the authors will be given the opportunity to respond.
Corrections and retractions
Where a published article contains a significant error, the journal will publish a correction. Where the findings are unreliable or there has been serious misconduct, the article may be retracted. Retracted articles remain online, clearly marked, with a notice explaining why.
